Competition at Weequahic
Many of our campers like to compete and do so in both our Leagues and in the Wayne County Camp Alliance tournaments. That said, we do not have tryouts. If you want to compete, raise your hand and let’s go compete, regardless of your skill level.
Many of our campers like to play sports and would rather not compete. We offer a ton of fun options across all of our Athletics. Campers get to choose the level of play and/or competition they want and are supported the whole way through.
Excellent Facilities
Weequahic offers five basketball courts, two soccer fields, a newly lit and developed flag football stadium, six tennis courts, a baseball diamond, skate park, lacrosse fields, fully enclosed gymnastics facility and much more.
Top Notch Staff
Camp Weequahic may be the only traditional summer camp in the northeast led by three former NCAA Division I athletes, two of whom also coached collegiately. As former athletes, we know what it takes to learn and excel both within a team and individually as a player and coach. Because of this, we attract great instructors and support them with top-of-the-line training and feedback.
Our athletic offerings are divided into three different experiences:
Leagues
Campers who enjoy the thrill of competition can do so as an activity choice each and every day. Teams are divided evenly from a skill standpoint and development age groups. The Weequahic Basketball, Football, Soccer and Tennis Leagues are available to anyone and everyone interested in playing.
Skill Instruction
We hire instructors with documented experience teaching in their specific areas. Our nine-day orientation allows our program directors and top teachers to create and review lesson plans and practice making all of our learning environments fun!
Wayne County Games and Tournaments
Camp Weequahic shares a fantastic association with 26 summer camps in Wayne County, PA. Competitions are available to campers in most major sports as well as Dance, Archery, and Skate Park.
Weequahic is a ‘no-tryout’ camp. If a camper wants to represent Weequahic in a WCCA event, they simply need to raise their hand and decide to compete in the Weequahic Way.
Baseball
Camp Weequahic is an excellent summer baseball camp for those players who want to spend their time improving their baseball skills but still want the fun of a traditional camp.
Our baseball diamond, batting cage, great coaching, competitive games, and fun atmosphere will help beginners improve their baseball skills and travel team baseball players keep their skills sharp and ready for competition both at camp and back home.
Cheerleading
Stunts, tumbling, and organized cheers are taught by our experienced and enthusiastic staff members. Campers can work on their individual skills or as a part of a team in order to learn and grow while having a great deal of fun!
Lacrosse
Learn to pass, defend, and score on the lax field. Whether you are picking up the stick for the first time or need to take a few days off of camp to attend a travel team tournament, our top notch staff will help you improve your lacrosse skills.
Street Hockey
Want to run around the rink, doing your best to pass, shoot and score? We’ve got you covered! Come down to the newly-renovated hockey rink and enjoy some time playing street hockey with your buddies!
Basketball
Whether you’re searching for a boys basketball camp or a girls basketball camp, Camp Weequahic features a summer basketball camp option that combines skilled instruction by professional coaches and college level players with all of the features of a traditional summer camp.
Beginning players will develop their skills with fun instruction and games, intermediate players will improve their skills with instruction and League play, and travel team and high school basketball players will compete both in our Weequahic Leagues and with other WCCA camps while preparing for more competition back home.
Soccer
Weequahic is led by two former Division I soccer team captains, Kate Kelly and Sue Baldwin. We also have the added benefit of Steve Nugent, one of our senior leaders who was an NCAA Division I head soccer coach for many years before joining our team.
Campers improve their skills in our small sided lessons, compete in our 7v7 Weequahic Soccer League, or compete with other WCCA Camps on our travel teams. (Just raise your hand if you want to play!) We are serious about having fun while learning and enjoying the great game of soccer at Weequahic!
European Handball
One of the great games rarely played in the US, our campers get introduced to this fast-paced team game that requires only a willingness to play. Whether goofing around with your friends or competing under the lights, Weequahic Handball is a ton of fun.
Flag Football
Possibly the hottest sport in the country, campers of all ages will enjoy our newly renovated and lit flag football stadium. Whether improving skills in one of our instructional classes, competing in the Weequahic Flag Football League, or heading to a Wayne County game or tourney, our footballers have a blast on the field.

Our carpeted gaga pit sits conveniently in Main Camp for all to enjoy. Don’t know what gaga is? Imagine playing dodgeball, from the knees down, inside an octagon with four-foot high walls. It’s a summer camp tradition we are happy to celebrate!
Roller Hockey
With both instruction and WCCA competition options, roller hockey plays a big part of our Weequahic athletics choice program. Come and enjoy our newly renovated full-sized rink this summer!
Golf
Director Cole played and coached golf at the University of Virginia and the first thing he added to camp was a full-service driving range. Campers receive full swing and short game instruction, spend time on our Weequahic range, and, for those really interested, can take trips to our local nine hole course.
Fitness & Aerobics
Whether you are an enthusiast or preparing for your middle or high school teams, our team of trainers can help every age and ability level build strength, flexibility and endurance. Campers of the appropriate ages are instructed in body weight, weighted, and aerobic routines.
